The flow of images in the book Between Landing and Take-Off takes viewers on a journey without a physical or timed destination. Through their literal interplay and beyond any linear narrative, Lycien-David Cséry‘s photo- graphs develop a subjective illustration of his experiences between 2013 and 2020. His observations however do not disembogue as a private diary but rather resemble the study of momentary lucidity within states of transition. The dominant motif of the photographs is the frame between arrival and departure. Allegorically, the works serve to represent the continuous investigation of how we assign value within our everyday lives. (Wolfgang Zurborn)
