Many artists have developed their own distinct idiom through drawing. The medium allows them to express adequately the messages that are essential to them. In order to emphasize the importance of drawings as a contemporary medium, the Faber-Castell company has launched a new art prize, the International Faber-Castell Drawing Award. Five artists were recommended by internationally established nominators. These artists now present their works in Nuremberg’s Neues Museum. The winner will be elected by an international jury on the evening before the exhibition opens to the public. The accompanying publication introduces the different artistic positions, reflecting once again what is possible in the art of drawing today.
