The exhibition "Object Love" questions the intimate relationship between humans and things. Why do we strive for things? How do we deal with things? What do they mean for us? And what are the consequences of our love for things? With the development of new technologies and the rise of consumerism, the number of things exploded. Each of us owns an average of 10,000 things today!

Things are everywhere. They serve us as tools. They act as extensions of our body. We are close to things both physically and emotionally. We touch them, they support and flatter us, we appreciate and adore, we love and hate them. We live in a man-made world. But with this quest for more, we are exploiting the Earth, needing more and more resources and producing mountains and floating islands of waste. The relationships between human and thing are changing.

The participating artists deal with these current and explosive developments from their perspective. With works by Kathrin Ahäuser, Thomas Bayrle, Melanie Bonajo, Karsten Bott, Machiel Braaksma, Anton Cotteleer, Danielle Dean, Yvonne Dröge Wendel, Maarten Vanden Eynde, Dimitar Genchev, Andreas Gursky, Ni Haifeng, Jeroen van Loon, Vika Mitrichenko, Olaf Mooij, Ted Noten, Min Oh, Erwin Olaf, Maria Roosen, Superflex, Versluis/Uyttenbroek and Erwin Wurm.
