Caroline Bachmann and Stefan Banz have designed a photographic and painterly artists’ book, edited by KMD – Kunsthalle Marcel Duchamp. The topic they address revolves around Berlin cemeteries. Linking photography and painting, they explore the unique nature of the park-like cemeteries in Berlin, which are used as recreational and leisure-time zones. Bachmann and Banz transform these places of mourning, melancholy and calm into an aesthetic experience by “visualizing” emotions.
